Waterville Jr./Sr. High School seniors and student council members rolled up their sleeves and gave back to their community. In partnership with the Oneida County Youth Bureau, these students spent their Saturday morning raking leaves and cleaning up the yards of local senior citizens in preparation for the winter season.
The initiative helped elderly residents who may have difficulty maintaining their properties and supported youth leadership and civic responsibility. Students worked together to help their community and lend a helping hand.
“This was more than just a cleanup, it was a chance for our students to connect with our community and make a meaningful impact,” said Paige Neff, student council advisor. “Homeowners were truly appreciative of all the students’ hard work and dedication.”
This event not only helped prepare homes for the coming snow but also strengthened community connections.
