Waterville Central School District juniors and seniors took part in a distracted driving scenario led by law enforcement and local fire/emergency departments. This live simulation was designed to highlight the dangers of distracted driving and reinforce safe decision-making as students head into graduation season and summer.

The live demonstration provided students with a firsthand look at the consequences of driving while distracted, reinforcing the importance of staying focused behind the wheel.

Waterville students Cody Coon, Abigail Dapson, Noah Jandreau, and Wyatt Keenan also took part in the simulation as volunteer responders, demonstrating leadership and a strong commitment to promoting safe choices among their peers.
“Our priority is to educate students on the importance of staying focused behind the wheel, helping them make responsible choices that protect themselves and others,” said Jr./Sr. High School Principal Andre Paradis.
Waterville Central School District extends its gratitude to the community members, law enforcement officers, and emergency personnel who made this event possible. “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the community members, law enforcement, and emergency personnel who have dedicated their time and resources to making this event possible,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Spring. “Your support is invaluable in keeping our students safe and prepared.”
This initiative reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to student safety, ensuring that young drivers are equipped with the knowledge and awareness necessary to prevent accidents and make responsible decisions on the road.
