Waterville voters approve 2025-26 budget; elect two board of education members


The Waterville Central School District thanks all of the district residents who came out to vote. Waterville voters approved the district’s $23,127,669 budget for the 2025-26 school year on May 20. Residents also elected two board of education members and approved the purchase of new buses and a pickup truck. 

The budget proposition passed with 72.79% voter approval;  198 yes votes and  74 no votes.

Bus proposition

The proposition authorizing the district to purchase school buses and a pickup truck passed with a vote of 194 yes; 75 no.

Waterville Public Library proposition

The proposition authorizing the district to levy and collect a tax in the amount of $266,950 for the Waterville Public Library passed with a vote of 210 yes; 61 no.

C.W. Clark Memorial Library proposition

The proposition authorizing the district to levy and collect a tax in the amount of $104,205 for the C.W. Clark Memorial Library passed with a vote of 209 yes; 58 no.

Waterville Public Library trustees

One person, Corrine Bishopp ran for one of three open seats on the Waterville Public Library Board of Trustees. Bishopp received 210 votes. The write-in candidates were Madden Lamonte with 50 votes and Nicole Lent Pollard received 49 votes.

Board of education election

Two candidates sought election to two open board of education seats

The seats are for three-year terms from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. 

The results are as follows:

Daniel Nichols, 226 votes

Laurie Zweifel, 218 votes
