2022-23 School Budget and Board of Education Election Results
By a majority vote of 315 to 133 ( 70%), residents of the Waterville Central School District approved a $20,043,141 budget for the 2022-23 school year. The approved budget calls for a 4.96 percent increase in spending from the 2021-22 school year and a 3.4 percent tax levy increase, which is at the district’s calculated tax levy cap.
District residents also approved a proposition (327 to 119) (72%), which allows for the purchase of four school buses.
Residents voted to elect Daniel Nichols (399 votes) to serve a first term on the Waterville Board of Education. A write-in candidate, Pete Casatelli, received 236 votes and will also be elected to serve a first term.
