Mrs. Countryman

Hello! I'm Mrs. Countryman (formerly Miss Stovall) and I'm so excited to be teaching here at Memorial Park Elementary School. This is my 9th year teaching 5th grade at MPS and I am loving every second of it. As I am getting to know my students more and more every day, here is some information about me!

In 2008, I graduated from Elmira College where I studied Elementary Education with a minor in Biology. While at school I was a member of the All-girl Competition Cheerleading team for 4 years. In 2007, (my junior year), we won the Division II All Girl National Champion Title in Daytona Beach, Florida. It was one of the most exciting and most memorable experiences of my life so far (second to being hired at MPS, of course!).

After graduation, I was hired as the Permanent Building Substitute at New York Mills where I gained some very valuable experience. A year later I was so fortunate to be hired to teach 5th grade here at Waterville! :) In 2012, I finished my Master’s degree in Biological Studies (grades 7-12) from Western Governor’s University.

This summer, on July 7th, I married my high school sweetheart; Kevin Countryman. It was a beautiful summer day, despite the expected forecast, and we had so much fun! Kevin works as a buildings estimator & decking designer at Jay-K Lumber in New Hartford!
