Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Perrone

Dear Student and Parents,

I am honored to be able to introduce myself to you as your son or daughter's new third grade teacher. I am excited about the upcoming school year and the prospect of meeting my incoming students. I am a 2006 graduate of Le Moyne College and I have a bachelor's degree in English with dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. While attending LeMoyne, I received a great deal of classroom experience through school visitations, practicum, and student teaching. These placements enabled me to work with children of all ages. I have also worked Summer Park and Recreation Programs for the past eight years and have had a wonderful time developing curriculum for the kids. I also completed my Masters Degree at Le Moyne College in the Spring of 2010. I am now starting my seventh year in Waterville and enjoy being part of the MPS family immensely! I was honored to attend the 2010- 11 blue ribbon ceremony with Mr. St. Peter in Washington D.C.. I am currently serving as the Third Grade Department Chair and I'm constantly looking for ways to help better your child's education! However, my biggest honor came a few year’s ago when a former student nominated me in the Barnes and Nobles Favorite Teacher Competition. I believe there is no better reward than seeing my students succeed in education and in life! As an educator my goal is to not only teach about the core subject areas but to also ensure that your children are learning about how to be good people!  The hope is to always provide my students with both of those opportunities.

My goal this year is to incorporate many of the teaching strategies I have acquired along the way to provide your children with a quality education. The Waterville Central School District prides itself in providing our youth with the fundamentals to be successful and I plan to sustain that idea in my classroom. I enjoy making my lessons interesting and fun for the students while educating them in the process. Creativity is important and my students will have the opportunity to allow their individual voices to be heard. I look forward to engaging my students while exploring the third grade curriculum.

In addition to education, I enjoy writing and participating in theatre. Sports are another of my non-educational hobbies and I frequently play in community soccer and flag football leagues. Running is another hobby of mine and I just completed my 8th Boilermaker! I hope to run a boilermaker for every year I teach! I am also a huge music fan and enjoy incorporating music as much as possible in the classroom. I am energized about the upcoming school year and look forward to meeting and working with all of you!

Sincerely,

                                                                      Mr. Perrone
