BOCES New Visions

New Visions is a program for seniors that provides an insider's view of a professional field. The program places students in the actual institution where they are able to receive hands-on experience in that field. Students attend four mornings per week at various internship sites and one morning per week at the BOCES center for academics. The other half-day students attend classes at Waterville. The New Visions programs integrate English 12 (MVCC EN 110), Economics, and Government into the curriculum. Students earn 4.0 credits through the New Visions program. The credits are made up from: 1 credit for English 12 (MVCC EN 110), 1 credit for Economics/Government, and 2 credits for the concentration area they select. Students who enter the New Visions program must have completed at least two years of science and math and plan on studying at the postsecondary level.
