Waterville Students Find Their Path Through Adventures at FFA Camp Oswegatchie
Camp Oswegatchie, operated by the New York FFA Foundation, offers a unique blend of adventure and personal development. Waterville students participated in a wide range of activities, including ropes course challenges, kayaking and canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. These experiences were designed to foster teamwork, resilience, and self-discovery.
Beyond the physical activities, campers engaged with FFA officers and camp staff in workshops and conversations that encouraged reflection and self-growth. Students learned to connect with new peers in an unfamiliar environment, gaining valuable insights into themselves and the kind of leaders they aspire to become.
Waterville student Caden Treen shared his enthusiasm for the experience, stating, “Camp turned out to be such an incredible experience that it took me by surprise! Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy it!”
The Waterville Central School District extends its gratitude to Agricultural Science Teacher and FFA Advisor Cindy Gallagher for organizing the trip and sharing photos that captured the spirit of the trip.
