Waterville High School Student Introduces MPS Fifth Graders to Stock Car Racing

Fifth grade students at Memorial Park Elementary School recently got an inside look at the exciting world of stock car racing during a special presentation led by Waterville Jr./Sr. High School student Dylan McConnell.

As part of his Advanced Placement (AP) Language and Composition coursework, Dylan planned and delivered a lesson introducing students to the vehicles, tracks and competition levels involved in the sport. To make the experience even more memorable, he invited Mr. Harrington to bring his stock car for students to see up close!

This unique learning opportunity introduced students to a new sport while expanding their understanding of the world around them. Thank you to Dylan and Mr. Harrington for sharing your time, knowledge and passion with our students!
