Waterville High School Class of 2026 Commencement

The Waterville Central School District community gathered on June 27 to celebrate a major milestone as the Class of 2026 officially became Waterville High School graduates. Family and friends attended the 152nd Annual Commencement ceremony at the high school auditorium to support each of the graduating seniors as they received the diplomas they had worked so hard for.

As the Class of 2026 filed into the auditorium, they were greeted by opening remarks made by Jr./Sr. High School Principal Mr. Andre Paradis, followed by a performance of the National Anthem by the band. Audience members then recited the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Logan Roberts, a member of the Class of 2026, and the Senior Ensemble performed the Alma Mater.

Superintendent of Schools Mr. Zachary Abbe commended the senior class on its hard work and academic success during the superintendent's address. The Class of 2026 presented its symbol of appreciation, followed by congratulatory remarks from Mr. Paradis during the principal's address. Valedictorian Oscar Yang and salutatorian Alexis Maine each delivered addresses to their peers. The class address was given by Senior Class President Peyton Harris.

Following the addresses, Student Council President Cole Adams gave a special recognition to the staff members retiring this year. The audience listened intently to inspirational stories from three guest speakers from the Waterville High School Class of 2013: Mr. Alec Savage, Mr. Anthony Rice and Mr. Luke Barnes. The Senior Ensemble delivered its final performance with an execution of “No One Is Alone” by Stephen Sondheim from the musical “Into the Woods.” Juniors and seniors were then called on stage to receive their scholarships and awards, presented by the high school principal.

Following the announcement of awards, the name of each senior was announced as they walked across the stage to receive their diploma. Diplomas were presented by Board of Education President Stephen Stanton. Once the Class of 2026 was officially declared by Mr. Paradis, they became the newest graduates of Waterville High School.

The Waterville Central School District extends its warmest congratulations to the Class of 2026. The District is incredibly proud of their dedication, accomplishments and the positive impact they have made on the school community, and wishes them the absolute best in all their future academic, professional and personal endeavors.
