Waterville CSD Honors and Celebrates 2026 Retirees

As the 2025–26 school year draws to a close, the Waterville Central School District is proudly recognizing and honoring six dedicated staff members who are entering retirement. Together, these individuals have given 172.5 years of collective service to the District, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students, families and colleagues.

Whether working inside the classroom, maintaining the safety and cleanliness of school facilities or ensuring safe travel to and from school, each retiree has played an essential role in fostering a supportive, enriching environment across the District. Their unwavering commitment to the growth, safety and well-being of Waterville students defines the true spirit of the Eagle community.

The District extends its deepest gratitude and congratulations to this year’s retirees:

• Danan Christensen – Elementary Teacher, Memorial Park Elementary School (20 years)
• Sandy Manion – Cleaner, Buildings and Grounds Department (10.9 years)
• Kathleen Owens – Junior/Senior High School Teacher (31.3 years)
• Larry Stockwell – Junior/Senior High School Teacher (50.8 years)
• Jody Thomas – Elementary Teacher, Memorial Park Elementary School (32.8 years)
• Wayne Wehrle – Bus Driver, Transportation Department (26.7 years)

These six retirees truly represent the heart of Waterville. Through their decades of hard work, passion and mentorship, they have shaped the schools and directly contributed to the success of generations of local students. While their daily presence in the buildings will be greatly missed, the District is incredibly grateful for the lasting legacy of excellence they leave behind.
