State Champion and School Records: A Memorable Weekend for Waterville Track and Field

On June 13-14, Waterville Jr./Sr. High School seniors Danny Casatelli and Kadence Barton delivered outstanding performances during the 2026 NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Webster Schroeder High School.

Danny competed in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter events, and Kadence competed in the long jump. Danny was named the 2026 NYSPHSAA Class C state champion in the 1,600-meter event after placing first in the Class C Division with a time of 4 minutes, 11.16 seconds. He also took third place in the Class C Division for the 3,200-meter event with a time of 9 minutes, 13.89 seconds. Kadence took eighth place in the Class C Division for the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 6.25 inches.

All three of these performances delivered record-breaking results, with Danny’s performances in the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter events and Kadence’s performance in the long jump setting new school records.

These achievements are a reflection of these students’ hard work, dedication and commitment to their sports throughout their high school careers. Congratulations, Danny and Kadence! We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and the way you represented Waterville on the state stage.
