Mr. Matthew St. Peter
Growing up in nearby Sherburne, I spent most of my days exploring the nearby creek, building forts, and playing hide-and-seek. The only child of a nurse and a PE teacher, I kept my parents busy with my share of injuries (i've got A LOT of scars!) and many nights attepmting to get me to come home before dark. My father nurtured my love of sports and reading - you could always find me with a book or basketball in hand - an odd combination for an 80's kid. Little did I know this would actually lead me to my career as an English teacher and coach. My future plan, set forth by my high school guidance councelor, which would have had me navigating the frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean serving as a ship captain would have to wait... My college career began at LeMoyne college where I was fortunate enough to play Division III Lacrosse (yes, before they became REALLY GOOD!), and study English literature under some amazing professors. It was at LeMoyne college where I met a professor and Jesuit priest who fueled my passion for literature - he made it COOL! I am forever in debt to Father HArold "Hap" Ridley for this.
