This year we are going to be working with the Common Core Modules written by Expeditionary Learning. There are 4 Modules for 3rd grade. Each module will last for about 10 weeks of instruction. During these weeks, students will be reading a variety of books and completing a deep understanding of the content of the books. Also, students will be writing their new knowledge in a variety of writing styles, mostly focusing on informative, narrative non-fiction, and research based creative writing.
The books we will be reading can be found on the links to the side. Click on the Module you wish to view, then the books, a picture of the cover, and a brief summary will appear.
Please feel free to check these books out at the local library and continue the reading and learning at home.
