• Clothing and Textiles:

    Clothing and Textiles explores clothing history, culture, design principles, equipment, construction, career pathways, and current issues within the clothing industry and society. This course will allow students to synthesize information, use prior knowledge, and apply critical thinking skills as they work on creative activities that will develop their skills to help guide them in their future. The course is divided into 14 content areas which include Culture, History and Fashion Cycles, Relationships of Fashions to Art Movements, Apparel Decisions and Personal Appearance, Elements of Design, Principles of Design, Fibers and Textiles, Wardrobe Planning, Evaluating Apparel and Textile Products, Equipment and Textile Selection Pattern Selection and Use, Construction Skills, Redesigning and Recycling Apparel and Textile Products, Current Issues in Apparel and Textiles, and Career Pathways in Apparel and Textiles. This course will will promote entrepreneurship which will help develop skills for employment.
