The Waterville Central School District is excited to welcome back Mrs. Lindsay (Bishop) Owens to her new role! Mrs. Owens, who began last week, is the district's new K-12 Assistant Principal. She most recently taught English at both Holland Patent and Westmoreland School Districts, and also served as an adjunct instructor at MVCC.
Mrs. Owens is a 2005 graduate of Waterville, completed her student teaching experience here in 2012, and is thrilled to be back in her hometown community. She grew up as the fourth generation on her family farm in Deansboro where her parents and grandparents still reside. She graduated Summa cum laude from Elmira College in 2009 with a dual major in English Literature and Political Science. Mrs. Owens received her Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University and her Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Oswego.
She resides with her husband, an elementary technology teacher, in Westmoreland. They have two smart and sassy daughters, Hadley, who is 8 and entering third grade, and Emmie, who is 4 and in pre-school.
Mrs. Owens is overjoyed to join a district with such a strong sense of community and a vision that includes preparing students for their own personal version of success. She believes in the power of relationship-building and aims to cultivate meaningful relationships with staff, students, parents, guardians, and community members.
Mrs. Owens exclaimed, “I can’t wait to meet everyone! I know we will have a great school year!”
