Hola! Welcome to Spanish 2. This year you will begin preparing for the Checkpoint B Spanish Exam, which you will take in 10th grade. We will cover topics in Spanish such as: Talking about school and academic subjects; Discussing the news and events; Emergencies, natural disasters and heros; Celebrations and Family; and more! This year we will spend a lot of time talking in the Past Tenses, too.
Much of the work we will do in this class will require independent work skills, and group collaboration skills. We will usually spend a few days at the beginning of a new Unit working through vocabulary and grammar as a class. After that, you will be separated in to groups to complete 2-4 Station Activities. This is done in order to utilize all 4 modes of language: Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. I expect all students to be respectful, stay on task, participate, and try their best when working in groups or independently. I will always be walking around to provide clarification, new information, and answer any questions you may have.
My hope is to have you interacting with the language and using it every single day so that you may one day become an Independent User of a Second Language!
Buena suerte!
