             ALL STUDENTS IN THE WATERVILLE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES WILL PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT WILL INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF PHYSICAL FITNESS.  THE MAIN GOAL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WILL BE TO INCREASE CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE, AGILITY, MUSCULAR STRENGTH AND SPEED.  EACH STUDENT WILL BE EVALUATED IN EACH ACTIVITY SUBJECTIVELY AND OBJECTIVELY THROUGH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP PARTICIPATION.  THERE WILL BE VARIOUS ACTIVITES THAT HAND-EYE COORDINATION WILL BE INVOLVED AS WELL AS ACCURACY, CONSISTENCY, AND JUSDGEMENT.  AS A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER WE WANT ALL STUDENTS TO SUCCEED THROUGH GROUP PARTICIPATION.  DURING VARIOUS UNITS WE ENCOURAGE ALL STUDENTS TO EXPERIMENT WITH VARIOUS SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES WHICH IS THE SELF-DISCOVERY TECHNIQUE.  THIS OPENS UP THE CURRICULUM TO SEE THE ACTIVITIES AND SKILLS THAT EACH STUDENT WILL LIKE.  THE GOAL OF OUR CLASSES IS FOR THE STUDENTS TO GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, AND TO TRY TO LIMIT PROBLEMS SUCH AS CHILDRENS OBESITY AND CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE.  THROUGH GROUP ACTIVITY AND PARTICIPATION WE WANT ALL STUDENTS TO HAVE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND INCORPORATE THESE LIFETIME ACTIVITIES EVEN BEYOND PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES.  WE WANT TO RAISE THEIR UNDERSTANDING THAT BY LIMITIN OBESITY AND INCREASING FITNESS LEVELS, THIS WILL ALLOW FOR IMPROVED HEALTH AND WELLNESS.  PROVIDING A FITNESS TEST WILL ALLOW US AS PHYSICAL EDUCATORS TO SEE WHERE EACH STUDENTS STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES ARE SO THAT WE MAY WORK WITH THESE AREAS FOR SELF-IMPROVEMENT.  OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE IN ALL PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES WITH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT SO THAT ALL STUDENTS WILL GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF PHYSICAL FITNESS AND ALL ITS INDIVIDUAL GAINS.
